Vitreous enamelling is an ancient art and never loses it's charm. The process is so thrilling and is always satisfying - you never really know how each piece will turn out!
Powdered glass is applied to thoroughly cleaned copper blanks and then it is heated in a special kiln to between 800-900 C - during this process the glass become molten and adheres to the copper beneath. Meanwhile the chemical compounds in the glass react with the heat to change colour - magical!!
This piece is totally unique and one of a kind, it has a lockable brooch pin firnly glued to the back.
